The event, drawing nearly 100 participants, marked the beginning of innovative collaborative efforts to drive tangible changes for women in Central of Vietnam.

Attendees included international and national partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries such as representatives of the EU Delegation to Vietnam, the Women’s Union of Vietnam, local People’s Committees of Da Nang city, Tho Quang ward, Hoa Bac commune (Da Nang City), Tu Commune (Quang Nam province), and businesses who are interested in circular economy models.

Mr. Gonzalo Serrano, First Counselor, Deputy Head of the EU Cooperation Department in Vietnam, highlighted the project’s goal: empowering women to improve their lives while safeguarding the environment.

The project Kick-off Conference served as a crucial opportunity to consult relevant key project stakeholders about the project goals and implementation strategies, as well as their needs and challenges towards applying green & circular economy.

Ms. Chau Bui – Visible Impact’s Director of Operations presented the project implementation approaches.

This four-year project (2025-2028) aims to preserve biodiversity in Central-Highland Vietnam’s forests by empowering women in Quang Nam and Da Nang through green and circular economic practices. Key goals include a 30% increase in local women’s income and a 70% increase in local environmental awareness regarding the circular economy and its roles in environmental sustainability. A sustainable funding system for women-led green initiatives will also be established.

This project’s Kick-off Conference signifies not just a milestone but the beginning of an ambitious collaborative effort to create lasting impact, ensuring both improved livelihoods and preserved natural resources for generations to come, a step forward to Vietnam’s sustainable development.

Visible Impact’s Director of Operations introduced the organisation.
