On 24th April 2025, Visible Impact celebrates its five-year anniversary, looking back on a journey dedicated to empowering communities and fostering sustainable development. As a German non-profit organisation, we have been focusing on delivering high-quality services, innovating effective solutions, and building crucial synergies between the non-profit, private, and public sectors in several developing countries. This milestone reflects on our path and tangible impact, achieved through strategic partnerships and vital support from the European Union (EU).
Our journey demonstrates growth and expanding scope. In Vietnam, “Win-Win for Vietnam” (2020-2024) project significantly boosted cross-sector partnerships, directly reaching more than 1.900 participants (690 people from civil society organisations (CSOs), 1.241 people from businesses) through various activities on SDGs/CSR/CSV, leading to 27 collaborative initiatives between companies and CSOs in Vietnam. Sustainable platforms like CSVHub and the ongoing Marketing for Development (M4D) Awards continue to foster business-CSO engagements in Vietnam. Simultaneously, the “Conservation Fund” (2020-2023) project pioneered sustainable finance for biodiversity CSOs in Central Vietnam. Despite the COVID-19 crisis, it has raised 5 billion VND and supported the local Red-shanked Douc langur population increase by nearly 85%, funded 15 impactful local initiatives (67% of them are youth/women-led). Through the Conservation Fund Project, we have engaged with over 60 companies and mobilised their support for executing projects dedicated to biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability.
Moreover, “EU4Youth – EUnlocking” (2020-2022) empowered young social entrepreneurs in Moldova and Ukraine, supporting young social entrepreneurs within a targeted network of more than 500 social enterprises. We established a supportive ecosystem, including an EcoHub seeding 15 social startups, 6 Social Entrepreneurship Labs in remote regions, and integrated the social enterprise topic into university curricula. This work earned a prestigious EU Award for “Excellence in Advocacy and Policy Dialogue” at the EU Headquarters in Brussels in October 2022.
These remarkable experiences inform our current flagship, “Empowering Women in Green & Circular Economy” (2025-2028) in Central Vietnam. This EU-funded project aims to train 300 women, equip women-led cooperatives, empower women, especially ethnic or poor women, to access the decent jobs in green/circular economy, and significantly boost their incomes, while raising green/circular economy awareness among local residents in the project’s targeted areas.
Across these projects, Visible Impact fosters meaningful change by building bridges (evidenced by Win-Win’s results and platforms like CSVHub), empowering local actors (through training, mentoring, coaching and resources benefiting diverse groups across regions), and driving sustainability (via innovative finance like the Conservation Fund and promoting green practices). Our commitment to influencing systemic change, recognised by accolades like the EU policy award, is core to our approach. The beneficiaries are diverse: CSOs gain strength, businesses engage responsibly, women and youth are empowered, and the environment benefits.
This journey relies on collaboration. We profoundly thank all partners, colleagues, supporters and volunteers who share our vision, with special acknowledgement to the European Union for its instrumental funding. We deeply value partnerships with key NGOs like GSI, Pro NGO!, RED Communication, GreenViet and CSRD, among many others. Cooperation remains our cornerstone.
Looking ahead, the “Empowering Women in Green & Circular Economy” project exemplifies our continued dedication to tackling complex challenges through integrated, innovative solutions and green partnerships.
