Position Title: Local Mentor & Contact Point in Vietnam

Project site: Hoa Bac commune and Tho Quang ward (Da Nang City) & Tu commune (Quang Nam province), Vietnam
Report to: Project Manager & Financial Manager/Coaching Coordinator, Visible Impact
Key Responsibilities
The Local mentor & Contact point in Vietnam will provide overall onsite mentoring, technical supervision and coordination of the project’s subgrantees under the responsibilities of Visible Impact (refer to the internal cooperation agreement between GreenViet and Visible Impact, no. NDICI ASIA/2024/457-177_2025_VI gUG) within the project entitled: “Enabling women in Central of Vietnam to improve their lives and protect the environment, and natural resources by applying green and circular economy” (in short, the project), ensuring effective implementation and alignment with the project’s objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Local technical mentor for 5 sub-grant projects funded by the project in 24 months
- Be the contact point in Vietnam of the 5 sub-grantees of the project to work with Visible Impact and GreenViet;
- Be the local mentor of the 5 sub-grantees, especially on awareness-raising on green and circular economy;
- Liaise with other local experts on circular economy and business coaches for cohesive support to the 5 sub-grantees
- Coordinate to address requests/questions/concerns of the 5 sub-grantees with the relevant persons in charge at Visible Impact and GreenViet;
- Organise and facilitate at least 1 meeting/month with each sub-grantee to keep track the implementation and provide advice/guidance when necessary;
- Provide a monthly brief report about the sub-grant projects’ progress
- Conduct monitoring visits with the sub-grantees on their project sites, when necessary;
- Revise technical reports submitted by the sub-grantees and report to/propose interventions with Visible Impact and GreenViet, when necessary;
- Attend meetings/events with the implementing organisations and partners relevant to the 5 sub-grantees;
- Develop sub-grant reports based on the provided templates and guidance from Visible Impact project manager.
Project budget: 1 day/month x 5 subgrants x 24 months = 120 days
- Awareness-raising trainer
- Prepare the training materials on developing project proposals targeted at awareness-raising about green and circular economy as well as its roles in improving livelihoods and protecting the environment and natural resources (2 days);
- Be the awareness-raising trainer at the two-day training course for the members of the Women Unions and the Youth Unions of the 3 project sites in Da Nang and Quang Nam province.
- Provide inputs for the training report
Project budget: 4 days/training x 1 training course = 4 days
- Awareness-raising trainer
- Prepare the training materials on awareness-raising about green and circular economy as well as its roles in improving livelihoods and protecting the environment and natural resources (1 day/training);
- Be the awareness-raising trainer at the 2 two-day training courses for the project’s subgrantees before they implement their sub-grant projects.
- Provide inputs for the training report
Project budget: 3 days/training x 2 training courses = 6 days
- Awareness-raising mentor
- Guide and mentor the members of the Women Unions and the Youth Unions of the 3 project sites on developing their own awareness-raising plans adapting to their own local contexts;
- Guide and mentor the members of the Women Unions and the Youth Unions of the 3 project sites on organising 6 awareness contests about green and circular economy and its roles, adapting to their own local contexts (2 contests per project site x 3 project sites);
- Guide and assist the members of the Women Unions and the Youth Unions on evaluation and reporting regarding these awareness-raising plans.
Project budget line 6.2.4: 16 days x 3 project sites = 48 days
- Local mentor for 3 sub-grant projects funded by the local Funds in the first 3 months
- Be the contact point in Vietnam of the 3 sub-grantees of the project to work with Visible Impact and GreenViet;
- Be the local mentor of the 3 sub-grantees; especially on awareness-raising on green & circular economy
- Coordinate to address requests/questions/concerns of the 3 sub-grantees with the relevant persons in charge at Visible Impact and GreenViet;

- Visible Impact’s local contact point in Vietnam
- Support Visible Impact’s project manager to develop and promote relevant content and manage Visible Impact’s communication channels (website, LinkedIn, etc.);
- Support Visible Impact’s international staff and experts regarding English-Vietnamese translation/interpretation (when necessary);
- Support GreenViet (the lead organisation) to co-organise project activities which Visible Impact also shares the responsibilities;
- Act as Visible Impact representative for onsite tasks in Da Nang and Quang Nam province, Vietnam (attend relevant training, stakeholder meetings, workshops, etc.), when necessary.
Project budget: 2 days/month x 44,5 months = 89 days
Total number of local expert days: 276 days (8 working hours/day)
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Circular Economy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in capacity building and environmental conservation, or circular economy initiatives.
- Proven experience working with local authorities, Women’s Unions, Youth Unions, and local communities in Central Vietnam, especially in Da Nang city and Quang Nam province.
- Reside in Da Nang City or Quang Nam province (to attend regular project onsite meetings and events)
- Experience in conducting training and awareness-raising activities/campaigns related to circular economy or biodiversity conservation.
- At least 2 years of experience in grant management and monitoring sub-grantees, including tracking progress and reporting.
- At least 2 years of experience as a trainer and mentor in sustainability, green business models, or environmental education.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, coordination, and facilitation, particularly with local and international NGOs, businesses, and government agencies in Vietnam.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and support multiple local partners simultaneously.
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English, with good reporting and documentation skills.
- Ability to conduct frequent travel within Da Nang and Quang Nam province for project site visits
Desirable
- Basic knowledge on green and circular economy
- Experience working for EU-funded development projects in Vietnam
- Prior experience in English-Vietnamese translation/interpretation for technical discussions or training materials.
