CSV Lunch Talks – innovative format to bridge the gaps between business and civil-society sectors

Within the last months of this year, the Win-Win for Vietnam project plans to organise four monthly Creating Shared Values (CSV) Lunch talks on various topics related to SDGs. The CSV Lunch talk is expected to be an innovative format to offer a friendly and informal environment for businesses and non-profit organisations in Vietnam to network, discuss specific social and environmental challenges and brainstorm potential solutions as well as initiatives of partnerships for sustainability.

The first Lunch talk on “Creating Shared Value TECH – ENTERPRISE – DEVELOPMENT: Vision & Innovation” was successfully organised on 30 September. Following the receptive welcome from both companies and CSOs, the project hold the second CSV Lunch talk on “Sustainable consumption in urban, residential areas” on 28 October. Thanks to the informal setting, enterprises and CSOs were open to share and deliberate with each other – one of the very first steps to build trust between the two sectors.

The concept of two more Lunch talks in November and December is developed.

The “Win-Win For Vietnam – Establishing An Effective Cooperation Mechanism Between Business Sector And Civil Society Organisations  In Implementing Corporate Social Responsibility & Creating Shared Value Actions Toward Achieving Sustainable Development Goals In Vietnam” project (in short, “Win-win for Vietnam” project) contributes to establishing an enabling environment for local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to network with the business sector in Vietnam as well as facilitate local CSOs’ initiatives in promoting
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Creating Shared Values (CSV) toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project simultaneously raises enterprises’ awareness on CSR and CSV toward achieving the specific SDGs and enhances local CSOs’ capacity in collaboration with the private sector in Vietnam as well as connects both sides together to foster the collaboration’s effectiveness between Vietnamese CSOs and the business sector in CSR, CSV actions which meet the SDGs. As a result, the project will contribute to gaining local ownership and reducing financial dependence on international donors for Vietnamese CSOs by leveraging CSR and CSV funds as well as improving their capacities of networking, cooperating with the corporate sector, project design, branding and
multi-stakeholder communication.

The Win-Win for Vietnam project is jointly implemented from September 2020 – February 2024, by the Institute for Research on Development Communication (RED) – lead organisation (Vietnam) and Pro NGO! e.V. (Germany), and co-funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam.

Visible Impact is partnering with Pro NGO! to conduct several project activities.
