Strategic consultation – “Win-win for Vietnam” project

On the afternoon of 10 December 2020, at Grand Saigon Hotel, the Institute for Research on Development Communication (RED) held a strategic consultation meeting for the “Win-Win for Vietnam” project to promote the cooperation between the business sector and local CSOs toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Vietnam.

Mr Tran Nhat Minh, Director of RED presented the project context and the needs for a platform to connect resources between the private sector and the community, together with local CSOs, the media and the government, toward delivering SDGs. Moreover, he presented the project’s outcomes and structure.

Mr Matthieu Penot, Trade Cooperation Attaché – the representative of the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam also shared about the global trade context in the face of the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the importance of partnerships between business and civil society in addressing current and future social challenges.

Ms Bui Thi Minh Chau, Project Manager – representative of Pro NGO! e.V. also shared and explained the concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Creating Shared Values (CSV) as well as the global trend of change, transformation and focus on CSR/CSV toward achieving SDGs.

Mr Ho Thai Binh, representative of the Survival Skills Vietnam project and Baemin representative shared about advantages and challenges of such cooperation between the corporate sector and local CSOs.

40 participants actively participated in the multi-dimensional discussion, contributed ideas to each activity and the overall framework of the project, suggested opportunities for multilateral cooperation with the project.

This is a technical activity to prepare for the project. It is expected that the project will officially launch in June 2021 in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh.

The project is implemented by RED– lead organisation (Vietnam) and Pro NGO! e.V. (Germany). The project is co-funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam.
