74% of surveyed enterprises are willing to contribute to the Conservation Fund

The baseline study “Investigation of the willingness to fund the conservation foundation of the private sector in Da Nang city, Vietnam”, starting to conduct from the beginning of the second quarter of 2021, has been completed.

In this study, the research team has done a survey with 220 companies and 20 in-depth interviews with people representing the private sector in Da Nang city (Vietnam).

INDICATORS OF WILLINGNESS TO PAY

According to the study results, 74% of surveyed enterprises are willing to contribute to the Conservation Fund. The average contribution (annual donation per company) is calculated to be 2,897,500 VND (approximately 104€).

BARRIERS

The study has clarified the questions about the types of funding/donation activities as well as the awareness of enterprises towards biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability. Moreover, the research also identified the barriers between business and conservation activities.

JOIN HANDS FOR BIODIVERSITY

The removal of the barriers should be efforts from both sides: local CSOs working in the fields of biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability and the business sector, to bring new opportunities for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation, possibly through CSR/CSV programmes.
